Creating a welcoming environment can be a challenge in a downtown metropolitan area where security is also a priority. For the MATBUS Ground Transportation Center in Fargo, North Dakota, our team redesigned the entire interior layout and increased openness, visibility, and safety to help create a more functional space. In addition, the exterior was given a face lift by removing a large portion of the existing dilapidated canopy, while using its previous structure to create a new contemporary canopy to accent the building. The existing 7,600 SF facility houses a large waiting area for patrons, ticketing for two bus services, access to the underground parking garage, a large conference room, and additional office/workspaces for all GTC staff.
