For a number of years, NDSU has erected a temporary inflatable dome structure over Dakota Field to provide indoor practice space for multiple sports on this Division 1 campus during the cold, inclement winter months.

This new, permanent, indoor practice facility will provide year-round practice space for football, soccer, baseball, golf and other activities in a climate-controlled environment with artificial turf field and abundant natural lighting. A new, adjacent outdoor field of artificial turf will provide warm-weather practice space.

Phase 1 construction consists of the 90,000 square-foot practice facility which features 71 ft. clear structure height at mid-field, retractable netting for various sports activities, elevated camera platforms, 7 large overhead doors opening to the artificial turf practice field to the east. An additional 10,000 square feet provides space for building operations, restrooms, locker room, and warehouse.

Phase 2 future plans include a weight room and north entry addition, along with team locker rooms, training, laundry, and recruitment lounge.

Project completed in collaboration with Crawford Architects, LLC. Kansas City, MO.
