RiverView Health, located in northern Minnesota on the banks of the Red Lake River in Crookston, has been serving their community since 1909. In 2020, a new 2-story 80,000 square foot addition was opened. This addition provided new in-patient rooms, clinic space (specialty, ortho, internal medicine, family medicine), pharmacy, conference/training space, café, gift shop and meditation room. Our team worked on the interior finishes, furnishings, and signage to promote a peaceful healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The mediation room was a highly desired feature to provide a calm, welcoming sanctuary for people of all faiths. This space was designed with peaceful colors, soft dimmable lighting, lit alcoves with kneelers for prayer, space for prayer rugs, a prayer bowl for written prayers, and a kinetic sand table. These design elements help manage the stress of family members who may need reflection when making important medical decisions and to help alleviate the stress of staff who are involved in the many aspects of the patient healing process.
